Why doesn't CHEERS! work on day one from Galveston?

Texas alcohol law requires cruise lines to serve state-purchased liquor in Texas waters, so Carnival activates CHEERS! at 6:00 AM on day two for Galveston departures. You aren't charged for the first day, and day-one drinks are billed individually to your Sail & Sign card. New York sailings have a similar day-one restriction.

Is Bottomless Bubbles worth it on Carnival?

Bottomless Bubbles costs $11.99 per day for adults ($6.95 for kids) and covers unlimited soda and juice. At $3.50 per soda à la carte, you need about three to four sodas a day to break even — realistic for genuine soda drinkers, easy to skip otherwise since lemonade, iced tea, and water are free.
